Sai Buakhao Market — also known locally as the Tuesday/Friday Market, though it now operates daily — is one of Pattaya's most beloved local markets and a favourite haunt of the city's large expat community. Located on Soi Buakhao in the heart of Central Pattaya, it sits within easy walking distance of the many guesthouses, bars, and restaurants that make this street one of the most vibrant in the city. Unlike the larger tourist-oriented markets, Sai Buakhao Market has a distinctly local character. The majority of vendors are Thai, and the prices reflect that — fresh produce, vegetables, tropical fruits, fresh-cut flowers, and herbs are sold at genuine local rates. It is the kind of market where expat residents do their weekly grocery shop alongside Thai families, making it an authentic slice of everyday Pattaya life. Beyond fresh produce, the market also has stalls selling cooked food, traditional Thai snacks, clothing, household goods, and a rotating selection of second-hand items. The street food section is particularly good in the morning, with vendors selling traditional Thai breakfasts including jok (rice porridge), khao tom (rice soup), and freshly made roti with banana and condensed milk. The market runs from early morning until around 6pm daily, though the busiest period is between 7am and noon.
