Monsoon Fury Hurls Fishing Boats onto Bang Saray Beach — Severe Damage Reported

Strong winds and rough seas driven by early monsoon weather battered the Bang Saray coastline in Chonburi province overnight on May 14, pushing several fishing and tourist boats ashore and causing severe damage. Multiple vessels suffered broken hulls after crashing into rock barriers along the coastline, with boat operators rushing to move vessels further inland to prevent additional destruction. The incident comes as Thailand's Meteorological Department warned of worsening weather conditions between May 14 and 18, with heavy to very heavy rain expected across eastern and southern regions. Seas in the Andaman are forecast to reach 2 to 3 meters, with waves exceeding 3 meters during thunderstorms. Residents in coastal areas south of Pattaya are advised to remain alert for flash floods and strong winds.
